I had a great day today. I don't know if it was the good weather, or if I was happily busy, or if I wasn't stressing but today was a marvelous day. Matter fact, this past weekend has placed an unfamiliar smile on my face.
Friday, I saw Buddy Wakefield feature at the Nuyo. Honestly, seriously, no joke--It was top 3 best poetry shows I've ever been to and number 2 most life-changing show I'd ever been to. His writing/performance is staggering.....He left me speechless more than one time and the slam was DOPE too. Thomas spit some straight fire and won!! holla :)
Saturday, Worked. I think what cheered me up the most (cause God knows I've been feeling mad depressed for the past week or so), was when I saw my girl Ginger come to me job and teach my students hip hop dancing. I guess all I needed to lift my spirits up was to see someone I hadn't seen in a while and someone who I love. Thanks ginga :) and then I went home and packed.....ahhhh the process of packing again. I'm 20 years old and have moved more than 10 times....Unstable much? Na, I just like experiences new places even if it's within the same city. I had my mom, aunt and little sister over while I packed. Then the night rolled around and a few friends came over to celebrate the fact that one of my best friends got into the University of the Arts in Philly and into AMDA! what a freaking delightful person! :) Got really drizzed, fun fun.
Sunday, ....sunday was a blurr..I slept a lot lol
Today, beautiful. Can't complain. I've been up since 6 am and was out all day but I honestly think it's the weather. I'm sure when I'm in DR I'm going to be feeling even more great...ahhhh. my country. can't wait.
ANDDD tonight at my supermarket, "Gristedes", I totally saw one of the main characters of IN THE HEIGHTS shopping. I had seen him there before but wasn't sure, I'm sure now. Ima say hi next time! I'm so boosted that he lives around here.
