latinos are humans not aliens!

So I'm watching this thing on TV called "CNN Presents Latino in America: Chasing the American Dream" and there's two parts to it. They gave you last night and part two is showing right now. It's crazy the things I'm finding out about my people's. I really had no idea.

1. One out of every seven Latina teens, or 14 percent, attempts suicide.
2. More than 50% of latinas get pregnant before the age of 20.
3. By 2050, nearly 1 in 5 U.S. residents will be immigrant
4. A Latino child born today has a 50% chance of developing diabetes in his/her lifetime

1. This shoked me and really made me sad. I really don't understand why there are so many latinas out there trying to kill themselves. It could be the fact that our culture makes us feel insecure sometimes on the way we look; whether it's our hair, colo skin, body figure, etc. But there are a whole lot other things too. We have to remember that there are worse things going on in the world and being insecure or sad for a little while is no reason to want to leave this world.

2. More than 50%? that didn't suprise me unfortunetely. My cousin Madeline and I are the only one's who haven't gotten pregnant in my entire family. It sucks that we FEMALE'S don't take better care of ourselves. Remember that guys can't get pregnant, we do!! and there is such thing as 1. MORNING AFTER PILL 2. BIRTH CONTROL and 3. CONDOMS!!!!!!! You can find all of these things for free at The Door, in downtown NYC (http://www.door.org/). Or at any Planned Parenthood, or at a Pharmacy! It'll cost a lot less money to buy any of those three things than to raise a child, most likely by yourself. Don't be dumb, love yourself first.

3. America hates immigrants so much but soon enough that's all that is going to be here. And people forget that this country was founded by immigrants. Also, stop calling immigrants "illegal aliens" they're not coming from FUCKING MARS!

4. I know our food is delicious but we need to start eating a little healthier cause 50% is not a good look. word.

I just wanted to say that stuff, I'm not angry. Just shocked and frustated at the fact that all of this is going on in this country. The land of the "FREE", home of the "BRAVE", living the american "DREAM".......not so sure about that.
