So I was on the A train yesterday, going from work to my house and there were these tourists from Venezuela and they got on the A and didn't know it was an express train from 59 street to 125 street and they wanted to get off at 81st street to go to the museum. After we pass that stop, they looked pretty confused so i asked them where they were going to help them out. They told me where and I told them they have to get off at 125 street then go back downtown and take the C-local and they were like where are we going, 125 street? omg isn't that harlem!?! and asking in a way like they were gonna get murdered ther. i was like what the fuck, so and right after harlem is washington heights, nothing to be scared of. They were like we heard bad....and i stopped them right there. I told them to get off at 125 street and they can go shopping more then they would in SOHO and eat some good as southern fried chicken and maybe even see a show at the apollo theatre. Then i told them to take the same train going uptown to washington heights and go see the beautiful park "the cloisters" as well as go shopping for CHEAP and cool things, and if they want some really good spanish food and a night of dancing at a club they are at the right place, and when the night is over go over to riverside park and look at the beautiful view. If you notice, most tourists books don't mention anything past 116 or 125 street when there is so much more to be seen in these "hoods". Yesterday was Dominican Independence day, Que viva mi quisqueya!! and yester day was def a day to go visit washington heights and see dominicans in action. Ima dead ass make my own tourist book cause that got me mad tight, i mean even in the bronx, there's the yankee stadium(even thought i hate the yankees), theres the botanical garden, mad shopping spots, the bronx zoo and so much more, downtown and brooklyn isn't the only thing poppin. But yea Happy Dominican Independence day to everyone!!!!

paz.
