Rappers' these days....

I woke up this morning wondering how hip hop was 10 years ago or even 20 years ago. Because I know how the music was in the time, simply dope! much better then now in days hip hop but how did the EMcees treat their fans? Did they care about all the fame and the limo's and shit? Did they truly live what they were spittin? were they doing it only for the love for hip hop? because I can say right now it ain't like that. Rappers want to make their fans wait at a concert 3 or 4 hours and then they come out cuz they was smokin or doing something not more important then the concert. They wanna be on the cover of every magazine, they want to do stupid things just to show up on any new channel or mtv/bet. It's sad, hip hop is supposed to be a cultural movement that is far more beautiful than anything else but the beauty is fading and it seems like we all going blind here. Even though I wasn't a hip hop head 10 years ago I still miss the vibe of music and of the streets of new york, everyone was chyll and wasn't doing reckless shit. It was just some kkick back and relax old school kinda shit but now it's just like the 4 elements of hip hop have become smokin', sexin', killin', and degradin;'.....I feel like graffiti has lost his art, DJing has becomes computer and technolized, MCing has become a power that MC's take to the head in the wrong way, and breakdancing is just not seen anymore.

Mos def recently said (referring to new rap): I'm supposed to be down with that because it makes me dance?

He's so right, all t-pain's shit makes you dance but is it really hip hop?

Mos def shouldn't even talk because I'm writing this blog about him and some others, I went to his concert last night and he decided to come out 4 hours after the doors of the concert open. Not cool, didn't even have an openning act. But I'll let it rock cause it was an amazing show.

no matter what Mos Def will always be my favorite MC he just shouldn't take stuff to the head...btw he was playing the movie "the Warriors" during the concert, I swear he is the most random guy ever lol but I still wanna marry him.

Well anyways, I'm starting the new semester at the new school in 2 weeks, i'm mad excited. I'm so happy I'm not at Pace anymore, the tuition isn't worth it, it's not even an ivy league school i mean if your not a business major then you should get the fuck outta that school. But yea I know it's gonna be a good start at this school. Can't go to Semester at Sea this summer (cuz of pace!!! :( ) but I'm thinking of doing some volunteer work over seas, i'm looking at India, I love their culture so ima check that out.

I will check ya on the other side of town!

listening to???......some rakim and eric. b "I know you got SOULLLL!"
